We love the challenge of making good use of existing buildings. Over the years we’ve got consent and seen built a number of annex conversions. Sometimes this is through full planning consent, other times via a certificate of lawful development. The planning route depends on the scope of work, setting and conservation status of the buildings. Our experience shows that using buildings for ancillary residential use is easier than creating a separate dwelling but is definitely possible in the right conditions. The drawings below show a range of our small conversion projects that include a tiny house, garden room, overspill accommodation, home office, carer accommodation, standalone dwelling in a listed building and conversion for wheelchair use.
